Senior Year: An Intro

Dear reader,
If I could use one quote to summarize senior year (so far), it would be the opening line to one of my favorite novels, Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities, "It was the best of times, and the worst of times." Now, I promise I'm not saying this to scare you. I just want to prepare you. Since my freshman year, every senior who I had ever been friends with told me that junior year was the hardest year of high school. That's a total lie (I mean, unless you take zero serious classes. But the whole point of this blog is for me to encourage you to challenge yourself, I'm not going to recommend that you take that path). Junior year is difficult, but senior year is even more so. Not necessarily because the classes are hard, but because your life becomes the ultimate juggling act. You'll be expected to balance SAT Prep, college applications, and homework, along with extra curricular activities and spending time with friends. It's not impossible, I promise you it's not. You can do it as long as you have a strategy... Aaannndd major time management skills.
While senior year is stressful, it's also the most fun year you'll have out of the four. It's nostalgic. It's the last hoorah. It's time to tie up all of those loose ends, for better or for worse. It's the year you'll feel the most alive (or the most wired since you'll be drinking gallons and gallons of coffee). It's your last time to hang out with and really appreciate your classmates and friends. You'll have the time of your life. I'm not saying it'll be more difficult than fun or more fun than difficult, but you'll make some great memories out of it none the less. So, ready or not, here it comes.
